These words carry the spirit of our homestead, of the land we have to privilege to call home and the duty to care for. It is a land that is home to many creatures, both domestic and wild, as well as the plants and trees that provide for us, and our community. It is a special place to treasure, and it is a land where love is at home.
Love can be shown in many different ways, but it is an action. Be it loving yourself, your family, your home, your pets, or your community, I pray this land can be loved by all, and show love in return by providing for those who visit Zaagi' Abi.
We recognize that our homestead is situated on land that has been home to many before us and will remain so for future generations. The Solomon Family wishes to acknowledge and honor the Yamasee Indigenous community, as well as the Ehrhardt family, who have stewarded this land before us in Ehrhardt, SC. We also recognize the profound legacy of those whose stewardship has enriched the history of this region and shaped our community.
By embracing and respecting their collective histories, we strive to build a more inclusive and respectful community for all who call this land home. We are dedicated to learning how to be better stewards of the land we inhabit and to upholding the legacy of those who have cared for this beautiful place. By respecting and honoring the histories and contributions of those who came before us, we aim to foster a community that is respectful, inclusive, and welcoming to all.
Meet Marie
Hey everyone, I'm Marie Solomon—a dedicated wife of over 18 year, mother to our amazing son, equestrian, certified dog trainer, and proud steward of a thriving 42-acre farm in Ehrhardt, South Carolina. Here, amidst the tranquil countryside, I've created a haven where my horses Vision and Gracie, our 5 dogs, donkeys, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, and barn cats and humans alike can connect and thrive.
My journey began with a childhood passion for horses, which led me to study Equestrian Business at Clemson University. However, it was my exploration of natural horsemanship and animal behavior that led me to get certified as a dog trainer through Animal Behavior College that truly broadened my perspective. These experiences not only shaped my professional path but also deepened my commitment to fostering harmonious relationships with all creatures.
Whether teaching young riders about safety, biomechanics, and the joy of horse-human connections, training dogs to excel in various environments, or nurturing my family's needs, my goal remains steadfast: to promote respect, empathy, and lifelong learning in every interaction.
Meet Jeremy Solomon—a creative powerhouse, dedicated husband and father, and hands-on family man. With a Fine Arts degree specializing in sculpture and animation from Clemson University and an Animation degree from Trident Technical College, Jeremy spent over a decade as "Mr. AT&T," thriving in retail and corporate roles, including becoming a two-time Summit Winner. However, his love for family inspired a career pivot, allowing him to leave the rat race behind and embrace a more balanced life.
While the farm wasn’t his dream, Jeremy has found joy in its rhythms. Whether snuggling donkeys, entertaining barn kittens, or getting excited during chick days at Tractor Supply, he brings his signature positivity to every moment. Jeremy’s dedication shines through in everything he does, from providing for his family off the farm to diving into building projects at home that bring smiles to his wife and son. A true example of creativity meeting compassion, Jeremy’s contributions are a cornerstone of the Solomon family’s success.
